Dr James Makamba is an African businessman and philanthropist whose career successes span decades. His career began in Zimbabwe in radio broadcasting and his business acumen saw him rise to prominence as an entrepreneur whose interests include retail, telecommunications, mining, agriculture, property development and investement, professional consultancy and digital publishing.

He sits on the boards of Telecel Zimbabwe, IBBAMO Foundation, JHL Investments, Thurlow & Company, the Kestrel Corporation (Pty) Ltd, African Business Connect, Makamba & Associates, and Anglo African Minerals.
